Meredith and Knox came to Big Sur for the second time this March, and we had the most amazing session in the rain! Meredith and Knox were married a year ago but didn’t get professional photos of the occasion. Meredith wanted to surprise Knox during their Big Sur trip with photos of their time together with their two adorable puppies. Knox is an accomplished singer/ songwriter and guitar player, and I’m so honored they brought their guitar along to capture that part of their story. The rain really started pouring down while we were on the coast they were such good sports laying in the ice plant among it. I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to spend the afternoon with. Thank you both.

N + K were married two days ago at the Santa Barbara courthouse but always wanted to have photos in Big Sur. I was so honored when N told me she had been following my work since before she was even engaged and knew she wanted me to be her photographer. They scheduled a three-hour elopement to have the best light in the forest and at sunset. A day before their session we saw that heavy rain and winds were in the forecast, so after a bit of rearranging, we were able to move it up by a day and skip all the rain. I actually normally love a misty, low-fog day, but three hours with heavy wind and rain can be difficult, so I was glad to be able to accommodate the move. Feeling so honored to be able to capture a bit of N + K’s love story in Big Sur.

S and S are getting married later this year in Oregon, and I’m so excited that they decided to include a Big Sur, California, engagement session before their wedding. I had such a good time getting to know them both and showing them areas of the coast they hadn’t explored before. We had some of the best moody light and big waves along the Big Sur Coast.

Amy and Manual have been married for 10 years and felt that their wedding day wasn’t about them. Since then, they had been through so much together as a couple that they wanted to renew their vows and commitment to one another in Big Sur. The day was so beautiful I could feel the love and devotion they had for each other. I had so much fun showing them around my home for the first time. I am so grateful to be a part of their memories!

H + J chose Carmel by the Sea for their engagement session. They have known each other since high school, and their relationship is so full of laughter that it was easy to capture them naturally. I appreciate both of you for trusting me to preserve this time of your life in Carmel. M & K eloped in last week. They started their wedding day at The La Playa Hotel in Carmel for their get-ready photos then they traveled to the ceremony in a vintage Thunderbird to Fanshell Beach along 17-Mile drive. We then adventured to Big Sur for cliffside sunset photos and their first dance on the beach and a toast to the newly married couple.

Lauren and Courtney are Engaged!!! I felt so honored to work with Lauren on her proposal to Courtney at the beautiful Ventana Big Sur Hotel. Lauren and Courtney love playing Scrabble together and stay at Ventana Big Sur multiple times a year. Lauren had a custom Scrabble piece made on Etsy that said “Will You Marry Me?”.

Frank and Alexi’s had their San Francisco Engagement session this week with a fire escape pizza picnic and city views. I had so much fun running around the city with them and eating Tony’s Pizza (the place they had their first date). I can’t wait for their wedding later this year!!!
