PNW Elopement // Forest Elopement of Sarah and JP
PNW elopement in Big Sur California
Sarah and JP had to postpone their April wedding until next year but wanted to still be married in 2020. Their wedding was starting to feel stressful and full of obligation and what a wedding was “supposed” to be and less like them. When planning their elopement they were thrilled to have a stress-free, completely romantic, and completely personalized day. One of their favorite places to visit has always been Big Sur, so we worked together to make their day perfect them.
Sarah and Jp are adventurous, JP was most excited about forest photos and Sarah couldn’t wait to get to the Pacific for some epic views. Sarah and Jp love to read together and I encouraged them to bring elements of that to their day so we can capture them how they naturally are! From her grandmother’s earrings and aunt’s wedding ring to their favorite books their day was incredibly unique and thought out. From a tree bridge over a creek to rocks over the Pacific, they danced, they popped champagne and they got married!!!
A little bit about Sarah and JP in their own words:
Sarah: When first starting college, I had plans to be single for most of it - I wanted to have fun!! But life had other plans. I met JP during my first year and immediately saw how creative, funny, kind, and thoughtful he was. I resisted allowing myself to think of him as “ the one” until almost 2 years of us dating… I got an internship that would require 8 months of long-distance and thought about how awful it would be to be away from JP that long. JP was immediately so supportive and excited for me. I realized I had found a true partner forever who was just as excited about my dreams as I was!! JP: While teaching her to drive stick in an abandoned parking lot in Gainesville, Florida. I caught Sarah’s eye while we were both laughing hysterically after a particularly violent lurch of the car while shifting gears, and I’m pretty sure I knew right there that Sarah was THE one.
