Santa Cruz Elopement at the Sequoia Retreat
Rachel and Jonnie had the most beautiful elopement day at the Sequoia Retreat in Santa Cruz California. They originally planned their day in Big Sur but two days before their planned elopement the road slide happened and we had to re-plan to make their redwood dreams a reality. With the help of the Sequoia Retreat Center letting us use their beautiful property and the adventure to the coast in a rented vintage Mustang from Monterey Touring Vehicles and the most amazing picnic by the incredible Michelle with Forage Vintage rentals, their day came together beautifully. Kate with Big Sur Flowers braved a one-lane highway to deliver homegrown flowers from Big Sur all the way to Santa Cruz so Rachel wouldn’t be without.
Rachel and Jonnie got ready at their beautiful A-framed cabin at Sequoia Retreat, with Rachel's mom there to tie up the dress and help with all the jewelry. We drove up to the beautiful ceremony grove of redwoods on the property and witnessed them both say their heartfelt vows and have their first kiss. They drove back to the coast in their vintage Mustang a must for car lover Jonnie. Michelle had set up the most beautiful picnic that was awaiting them with charcuterie, champagne, and chocolate cupcakes. The wildflowers were blooming and they had a beautiful first dance overlooking the Santa Cruz coast as the light set behind the hills.
Congratulations you two!!! so honored to have been your photographer
I’m a super 8mm lover. There is nothing like those flickering frames and overscan vibes. I own a Braun Nizo that I've used for personal and wedding work. But man, $200 per roll is tough. So to say I've been waiting for something like the Fuji instax mini evo cinema is an understatement. I’ll be comparing the mini instax mimi cinema, the camp snap and my traditional Braun Nizo. Disclaimer: nothing is beating the original but we are using it for comparison. I will be updating this blog as I use the camera more but I wanted to get my initial impressions up and out to you.
