Big Sur Elopement Lisa and William

Northern California Elopement

When Lisa first messaged me she said “ I want to get my dress dirty and adventure all over Big Sur!, take us somewhere cool!” I couldn’t message her back soon enough! Lisa and William had to reschedule their original elopement day two times and were my first couple to photograph since COVID started. I feel so grateful for Lisa and William choosing me to be their Big Sur elopement guide and photographer, as a photographer of elopements I know I’m generally the only witness and planner of their day, so it’s a HUGE honor. We started at their hotel Tickle Pink inn and then adventured to the Redwoods followed by the sea. Lisa rocked her amazing Lillian west gown all over rocky cliffs and over streams like a pro. It feels so good to be back doing what I love and meeting cool new friends!

a bit about Lisa and William in their own words:

We met through work in Florida. We are both in the same industry (aviation) so we were bound to meet somewhere in the world I believe! knew almost immediately that he was special to me, but I had never experienced true love to know at the time that this is what that was. There was no doubt in my mind that I knew I wanted to have him around and I loved having him be a part of my life. He was the cool executive in the industry that everyone respected and I was the shy, intimidated newbie of a few years in the biz that would never have thought in a million years I would have been a blip on his radar. The nerves were comforted over time as he really was such a great human being that when I finally got the gull to ask him to dinner he actually said yes (oh, man time to go buy a killer dress and pretend like I have owned it for a while haha ) We instantly connected through humor, laughter, and emotion like we were kindred spirits with old souls that should have met decades ago. It is actually quite bizarre how in tune we are, we finish sentences, know the question before it is asked, and his sense of humor is everything. The real answer, I knew he was pretty early on. I actually found my soul mate.

For us, elopement means an adventure and a new experience all dedicated to this milestone in our lives. The concept of adventure and the unknown defines us so well as we are adventurers ourselves and love unique experiences. We wanted a fun, low-key adventure to share with one another and not have all the stress and obligation that comes with a traditional style wedding. I think it is awesome if you do, but it just does not fit our vibe.
