Glen Oaks Elopement // Glen Oaks Wedding

Jahara and Jacob Eloped yesterday at Glen Oaks in Big Sur California. Soaring Starsky officiated the most meaningful ceremony among the redwoods; with thoughtful words full of emotion from Jahara and Jacob. We headed to the coast for their first dance on a hill overlooking the sea followed by popping champagne by the cliff’s edge. My favorite part of the day was watching the way Jahara and Jacob laughed so easily together, held each other with such softness, and went with the flow of the adventure. We finished our day together taking in the most breathtaking pink sunset. Jahara and Jacob are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I felt so honored to be trusted with their sacred day.

Where did you two meet?

1. How did he/she propose? Who introduced you?

   We live in Southern California on an avocado grove. Jacob suggested one afternoon we go ripe avocado picking. As we wandered through the grove, he proposed. It was unexpected and romantic.

2. When did you know he/she was THE one?

   When she was reading her poetry to me via social media 14 years ago. We would talk about traveling the world. Shooting photos and writing.

3. Why did you decide to elope?

   The privacy and intimacy of this ceremony, being just about us and our love and dedication for each other

4. What does your partner do that makes you laugh?

   Being a literature major and pronouncing a word incorrectly but being so sure of herself. Also timing when comes to jokes. Punchline missed.

5. What are you looking forward to the most about being married?

   Calling Jahara my wife. Spending forever with her and cherishing each moment we share.

6. Why did you choose Big Sur, have you been before?

   We love the energy and mood Big Sur oozes. We’ve also celebrated our anniversary in Carmel.
