My favorite shelter-in-place outfits, apps, activities, and recipes getting me through COVID.

With so many sales going on I thought I would share what I’m wearing EVERY day, my favorite recipes, activities, and calming apps. This is a tough time financially for SO many of us including me but these are some tried and true pieces that will still be around after the virus has gone. I am NOT someone that has ever felt like they had time to meditate but I’m working on becoming one of those people. Also because this doesn’t fit in any category below, and I heard today that Costco was completely out of coffee, WHAT?! I’m loving captain and stoker coffee delivery! I like the captain blend.

I was asked after my last blog what shoes I’m using on my peloton, I’m using Tiems and LOVE them. They are SPD not delta, it took me 5 min to change my clips on the bike, and it made me so mad that I waited so long to do it! I ordered both from REI on sale.

APPS

Apps for meditation and sleep I’m trying out that both have free content:

Insight Timer

Headspace

Clothing

My favorite leggings and yes they are way better than LULU’s.

The softest sweater imaginable

The sweat shirt i’m washing every day.

My favorite pants that feel like pajamas but look like I got dressed to sit on my front porch. HERE I also wore these almost every day over a bathing suit when I was in Hawaii. People always ask where I got these! And lastly, I love my Blundstones for surviving the grocery store, rain and kids.

Recipes

This tortilla soup recipe was a huge hit with everyone in my family and I loved that It was quick and easy. I used a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken to make my life easier. I’ve been loving soups so much during this time, Usually, I have all the ingredients and I can start them at noon. For some reason dinner time my kids are extra emotional.

We have been making a lot of egg sandwiches at home lately. Fried eggs mixed with AD Astra bread company’s pecorino and garlic bread with a slice of cheddar are making everyone happy.

We love to pickle onions, carrots, and sweet peppers, my kids eat these right out of the jar or on top of nachos. Here is a similar recipe for the pickling portion but I use less water and obviously no rainbow chard. I recently ran out of mustard seeds and no one noticed.

My Favorite rib recipe!! I’ve been making this for years and it’s my husband’s favorite. The mix of honey and mustard is amazing.

The famous NY times best chocolate chip cookie recipe If I’m being honest I don’t make this much as it requires two types of flour and lots of sifting BUT, they are the best if you have the patience.

TIE DYEING

The best activity we’ve done from home during shelter so far is tie-dying. We used this set and just used white things we already had, old stained rags (I use them for my peloton rides) socks, and sleep shirts.
