Wind and Sea Wedding
Shanise and Julien were married on Tuesday 2/22/22 one of the most sought-after dates of the year. Shanise and Julien split their eight-hour wedding day over two days so they could enjoy their guests while also prioritizing their couple’s portraits. It was supposed to rain all day on their date (good luck and very exciting for me photo-wise). It ended up as a light drizzle Tuesday followed by a beautiful sunset Wednesday. This gave them such variety in their couple’s portraits! from moody to sun-drenched it was perfect in every way. I had such a good time getting to know Julien and Shanise, some of the kindest couples I’ve worked with and SO deeply in love. Their closest friends and family came to support them and dance the night away at Wind and Sea in Big Sur California.

Where did you two meet?San Luis Obispo; (Cal Poly)
How did he/she propose? Who introduced you?The proposal was almost out of an episode of The Bachelor. Julien planned a very romantic helicopter ride over Big Sur and we landed on a vineyard where we were greeted with wine. We walked over to take in the views and the next thing I know - he was on one knee! We were introduced through our mutual friends while studying at Cal Poly :)
When did you know he/she was THE one?When Julien got a job in the Bay Area and Shanise found out she would be studying in the Bay Area. We knew it was meant to be!
Why did you decide to elope?The traditional vibe just wasn't for us. I (Shanise) was starting to get very overwhelmed.......
What does your partner do that makes you laugh?Julien's response: her dramatic reactions and our inside jokes/phrases Shanise's response: the faces he makes or when he has randomly sassy remarks
What are you looking forward to the most about being married?General next chapter in life. We will be moving to San Luis Obispo shortly after our elopement/mini ceremony.
Why did you choose Big Sur, have you been before?We love hiking through redwoods and going on coastal trails. Big Sur has it all!
