How I'm getting through COVID-19 and shelter in place

So in California we are all sheltered in place. It’s been HARD, especially with kids. Were going out for lots of walks by the beach maintaining social distancing but also, it’s been cold and raining! I wanted to share some of my favorite movies, books podcasts and subscription boxes I’m currently using. Right now i’m loving things that take my mind off of anything serious. My kids and I are using lots of chalk, tye dying all the socks and watching far too much TV. I hope your all staying healthy and happy! Let me know below if i’m forgetting anything your loving as I would love to add to the list!

Favorite shows right now:

The hunters - on Amazon prime

Tiger King - on Netflix

Schitt’s Creek

Self Made

Other people recommended:

Zoe’s extraordinary playlist

Homeland- free on on showtime right now

Some of my favorite books:

I’m an avid reader, I usually read two- three books at a time, one on my kindle, one possibly audio and one hard cover. I try to get most of my books through the library. With the Library being closed I’m using Libby and Hoopla apps a lot. They both pair with your local library and hoopla syncs with my kindle. I love little free library’s around town I have one I frequent a lot and always find really good books.

I ready maybe you should talk to somebody while I was in Hawaii a few weeks ago. Its not an easy thoughtless read but I really loved the content, it made me think about my own perspective.

Educated - one of my favorite books last year.

American dirt - currently reading but really enjoying!!

The silent patient - on my ‘to read’ list

The Dutch House - is on my ‘ to read ‘ list

The wives - currently listening to this on hoopla while doing computer work. it’s ok but sometimes I wonder if its just the audible version I’m not loving.

The Secret keeper - on my ‘to read’ list.

The Tea girl of hummingbird lane - easy fast read

Pachinko - Loved this one so much last year.

Verity- disturbing, fast read, I predicted the ending but easy read.

Favorite podcasts:

The daily is where I get most of my news information from, but I’ve been avoiding a lot of COVID talk.

I really liked Dr Death!

I was recently recommended : what should I read next and I think this sounds amazing.

Subscriptions:

Subscriptions I’m using right now: I want to get out and walk along the beach and around my neighborhood but I’m not feeling the grocery stores right now so I’m trying out butcher box for all my families meat needs and imperfect foods for veggies and fruit and some grains. Peloton is keeping me sane, i’ve had a bike for about two years. If you want to follow my name is FLORIDE. I haven’t tried thrive market yet but I’m probably going to sign up soon ( clicking any link should give you a coupon to any of these services)

Butcher box - currently a waiting list

Imperfect foods -

Peloton - here’s my code for 100 dollars off and this is seriously my favorite purchase !

Thrive Market - Just signed up!

Recommended to me:

Daily Harvest - the cold brew chocolate shake looks amazing

NY times digital - but in an effort to stay un-informed I won’t be doing this one, I do LOVE NY times.
