California Couples Photography
Yeonsoo and Aki were visiting Big Sur California from Tokyo this week and wanted to capture their time and 10-year anniversary with a couples session. Aki is an accomplished musician and Yeonsoo often performs with him at their church, so we made time to capture them doing what they love together. Aki’s saxophone is a 1920s-era silver-plated saxophone and it was one of the coolest instruments I’ve ever photographed. They opted to do a three-hour couples session on the coast so we could do all the locations they were excited about. I had so much fun showing them areas of Big Sur they hadn’t been to before.

N + K were married two days ago at the Santa Barbara courthouse but always wanted to have photos in Big Sur. I was so honored when N told me she had been following my work since before she was even engaged and knew she wanted me to be her photographer. They scheduled a three-hour elopement to have the best light in the forest and at sunset. A day before their session we saw that heavy rain and winds were in the forecast, so after a bit of rearranging, we were able to move it up by a day and skip all the rain. I actually normally love a misty, low-fog day, but three hours with heavy wind and rain can be difficult, so I was glad to be able to accommodate the move. Feeling so honored to be able to capture a bit of N + K’s love story in Big Sur.
